CollabNet, the leader in distributed application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions, today announced that CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise Edition, the predecessor to the recently released CollabNet TeamForge, won a Great Indian Developer Award in the Change and Configuration Management category.

The Great Indian Developer Awards, produced by Saltmarch Media, honor trailblazing individuals, technologies, and organizations that are contributing to the evangelism, productivity, and innovation excellence of the Indian developer ecosystem. Winners were selected via a public voting process and finalized by a panel of expert judges. A ceremony was held at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India on Apr. 25 to honor the award winners.

"CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise Edition (now CollabNet TeamForge) is transforming software development practices by enabling globally distributed software development organizations to collaborate. This accelerates productivity, so projects are delivered up to five times faster and costs are slashed by 10–50% through code reuse,” said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet.

"Considering the importance of systems integration teams in India that drive innovation for CIOs and project teams all over the planet, it is an honor to be recognized by the Great Indian Developer Award voters and judges.” CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise Edition is the predecessor to the recently released CollabNet TeamForge 5.2, CollabNet’s award-winning ALM platform. CollabNet TeamForge 5.2 contains significant enhancements, including new features for Subversion management, lab management and cloud provisioning capabilities, and an Agile-ready plug-in for the Hudson continuous integration engine. More information about CollabNet TeamForge 5.2 is available at http://www.open.collab.net/products/sfee/.

Saltmarch Media's annual Great Indian Developer Awards honor trailblazing individuals, technologies, and organizations that are contributing to the evangelism, productivity and innovation excellence of the Indian developer ecosystem. These awards recognize the product and innovation excellence of the hundreds of software products and tools that aid developer productivity, across 11 different categories. The selection criteria applied by an international stature panel places emphasis on functionality, usability, innovation excellence, bleeding-edge quotient, and feedback from the developer ecosystem.

CollabNet's offerings are technically very strong and positioned to leverage on Subversion's increasing adoption in IT organizations across India," said Indu Britto, Group Publisher & Senior Vice President, Saltmarch Media. With the community unequivocally voting for CollabNet TeamForge, the first signs of awareness trickling down -- to developers and development managers about how they can help teams that have already made the leap to Subversion be even more productive -- is becoming even more evident", she added.

“The growth of the Indian IT market in the past ten years has been driven by collaboration between talented Indian software developers and project teams around the world,” said Anil Bakshi, general manager and country head, India, CollabNet Software Private Limited (CSPL). “Thousands of developers in India are engaged in this type of collaborative development using CollabNet’s products. CSPL has nearly 100 employees here in Chennai who were instrumental in releasing CollabNet TeamForge to the Indian market, and they are thrilled with this recognition.”
