The games industry in India has its healthy share of rock stars and a burgeoning stream of wannabes. A relatively nascent industry, many of its practitioners and consumers were dubbed as geeks and outcasts, and many of them ridiculed for their passion. With the debut of Game Developer Summit in 2011, Saltmarch Media demonstrated the need for an active platform that discussed the combination of programming, interactivity, aesthetics, sound, user experience and gaming business.

At the second edition of Game Developer Summit (GDS), treat yourself to a day of awe, self-effacement, and grandstanding. With 15+ plenary focused sessions and lightning talks anchored by independent voices and industry experts, the 2011 edition will feature topics broadly based around these tracks: Game Programming, Game Design, Game Production, Game Business & Management, Game Audio.

GDS 2011 is co-located with Mobile Developer Summit this year, and will be held 3 November 2011, at the Indian Institue of Sience in Bangalore, India.

Mobile Developer Summit :: Co-located with GDS 2011

Mobile Developer Summit -- a distinct event co-located with GDS -- will be held on 2 and 3 November 2011. Mobile development is complex because its ecosystem is complex. Unlike developing for a small set of platforms, Mobile development platforms sport a number of versions, with each version adding new functionality and fixes, besides introducing platform fragmentation that makes it even more complex for app developers. As the interest in mobile applications surge, so has the number of app stores - from platform/OS providers, handset manufacturers and mobile network operators, to some devices even presenting consumers with multiple stores. The app store is fast becoming the portal, deck or home page of the smartphone era, a place to go to discover new things. This is also posing a challenge for developers - which stores to publish in and how to get their apps discovered. Following a hugely successful 2010 edition, Saltmarch Media is announcing a bigger two day summit for the Mobile Developer ecosystem in 2011 that will broadly cover the following themes: Adroid Development, iPhone & iPad Development, Mobile Platforms, Mobile Web Development, App Monetization Business & Trends .
